The
medical illustrations featured for each specialty were created by hand
in the traditional pen and ink technique and then scanned by a professional
post-production artist. Hand drawn line art remains the preferred style
of illustration by most publishers of text books and journals. Color can
then be added digitally by Michael North, an expert air-brush style colorist.
Once completed, the artwork can easily be formatted for Power-Point presentations,
websites, publication in printed materials, and CDs or DVDs.
